r2p gets results once again with reliable and high-quality technology. After winning the first project for driverless underground vehicles back at the end of 2015 (as reported VAG Nürnberg chooses r2p), r2p has again been selected as a partner for a fully automated driverless train project.

In 2020, the first of a total of 17 Stadler underground vehicles for SPT Glasgow Subway (Strathclyde Partnership for Transport) will commence operation. And technology made by r2p will be on board.

René Seliger, Project Director and Shareholder, commented: “We are delighted that we are once more able to demonstrate that in-vehicle passenger safety can be assessed through highly reliable on-board technology. With driverless vehicles in particular, this technology is at the heart of the project’s success.”

Transports Publics Genevois (tpg) has placed a contract with r2p to renew all its old systems with innovative new technology. Over the next four years, tpg will gradually retrofit all the vehicles in its fleet with future-proof r2p systems. In total, 230 video systems will be modernised.

René Seliger, project director and shareholder at r2p, explains: “Over the last 5 years, we have delivered several hundred CCTV systems via different channels to Geneva (tpg). We are pleased to announce that we will now be bridging the gap with a refurbishment programme of the final 230 systems. By doing so, we will bring about significant advantages in operational handling for all areas of tpg. In addition, we’ve safely secured the supply of their spare parts for years to come.“
